Program

Who is this experience for?

Our guided coastal exploration is designed for a wide range of visitors – from individuals, couples, and families to small groups of friends and school groups. It’s ideal for those seeking a deeper understanding of the Slovenian sea and looking for a unique, nature-based experience that goes beyond casual recreation. Families will appreciate the educational value, while nature enthusiasts will be drawn to the opportunity to explore marine life in depth.

What will you experience?

Join us for a guided exploratory walk along the Slovenian coast and uncover the rich diversity of marine life. As we explore, you'll learn about a variety of coastal habitats – from sandy and muddy sea bottoms to underwater seagrass meadows, rocky shallows, and towering flysch cliffs – all home to rare and endangered species of marine flora and fauna.

You may observe tiny sea anemones, crustaceans, mollusks, various fish species, and – if we’re lucky – even graceful seahorses, sea turtles, or dolphins. At every step, you'll gain insight into the vital role these coastal areas play as shelters, feeding grounds, and spawning sites for countless marine organisms.

But your presence is more than just observation – it’s a contribution to conservation. By taking part, you help raise awareness and support the preservation of precious marine ecosystems.

Learn as you explore

Guided by marine biologists and conservation experts, you'll discover life along the shoreline – one of the most biodiverse ecosystems of the Slovenian sea. You’ll encounter a variety of fascinating organisms, from seaweeds, echinoderms, and tunicates to tube worms, cnidarians, mollusks, and fish. Along the way, you'll also explore the human impact on biodiversity, including real-life examples like cigarette butts, wet wipes, bottle caps, plastic bags, and other debris that threaten marine life and directly affect human well-being.

Understanding how your actions can help protect marine habitats is perhaps the most valuable takeaway of the entire experience.

Taste Istrian tradition

During the coastal walk, you'll enjoy a taste of authentic Istrian cuisine, such as stuffed Istrian focaccia, served during a relaxing break by the sea. It’s the perfect way to connect with the region’s cultural and culinary heritage, and to let the experience sink in – quite literally – with the flavors of the coast.
